X- Ray Technician

X-ray Technician: X-ray Technician creates X-ray images of parts of human body to help physicians diagnose and treat
various illnesses and injuries as accurately as possible.

Brief Job Description: Individuals at this job need to create X-ray images of parts of the human body using radiographic equipment under the guidance and supervision of Radiologist . They explain medical imaging procedure, prepare X-ray room & patient for procedure, operate & m a i n t a i n X-ray machine, record radiological supplies, prepare report & document under Radiologist’s guidance, maintain records and carry out other administrative jobs as needed in the department.

Personal Attributes: This job requires individuals to work in a team and in close collaboration with Radiologist. They must be polite and be able to calm and placate upset individuals. They should be able to remain standing for long periods of time and must have strength to transfer and position patients for scans. They should have t h e capacity to visualize tw o and three -dimensional spatial.

Operating Theatre Technician

Operating Theatre Technician – (OTT): They prepare and maintain operating theatre and equipment, and assist surgical and anaesthetic teams during operations. They are also known as “Operation Room Technician”,”Scrubs”, or “Operating Theatre Assistants” when working in a hospital environment.

Brief Job Description: Some of the key responsibilities of the Operating Theatre Technician are transport patients, preparing operating room for surgery, set up, check, connect and adjust surgical equipment, technical assistance to surgeons, clean & restock the operating room, arranging instrument, supplies and equipment according to instruction and position patients for surgery.

Medical Laboratory Technician

Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT): also referred to as Clinical Laboratory Science professional, Medical Technologist and Medical Laboratory Scientist.

Brief Job Description: The Medical laboratory technicians perform complex tests for diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease. These professionals are responsible for supporting and assisting doctors/ scientists in their day to day working in a variety of roles. They function as the main support to biomedical scientists in pathology laboratories.

Emergency Medical Technician

Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) – Advanced in the Healthcare Industry is also known as a lifesaver or paramedic. EMT-Advanced has more training and internship requirements than the EMT-Basic and can undertake additional tasks, administer a greater range of medication and perform more procedures.

Brief Job Description: Individuals at this job need to provide emergency medical support and care to individuals who are critically ill or injured and transport them to a medical facility within stipulated time limits.

Personal Attributes: This job requires individuals to work in a team and be comfortable in making decisions pertaining to their area of work. Individuals should be able to maintain composure in extremely stressful conditions in order to assess medical situations and perform emergency lifesaving procedures according to the methods in which training has been imparted to them. Individuals must always perform their duties in a calm, reassuring and efficient manner. The individual must be able to lift between 45 – 99 kilograms of weight with a partner, as the weight of patients will typically fall within that range. The fitness of the individual should be assessed using the Defence Man & Woman guidelines.

Blood Bank Technician

Blood Bank Technician in the Healthcare Industry is also known as a phlebotomy technician and Blood Bank Laboratory technician.

Brief Job Description: Blood Bank Technicians work in a lab to collect, label and store blood. The blood bank technicians test samples to screen potential donors, store blood, draws and maintain documentation and records.They make patients comfortable during the procedure and monitor their vital signs. They also check compatibility blood before issuing it out for transfusion.
